Tom Elko is environmental journalist striving to produce compelling print, audio and video narratives about the events and issues impacting Minnesota’s environment. He is the creator and producer of the weekly Minnesota news and issues program Weekend UpTake, and currently works as an environmental communications consultant for Minnesota-based non-profits.

Tom received a B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota and was a 2007 fellow of the Knight Center Great Lakes Environmental Journalism Training Institute. Throughout 2008 he was a fellow of Center for Independent Media covering the environment, technology and politics for the Minnesota Independent.
